Here’s how to get connected:

If you’re new: try Women’s Bible Study on Wednesdays – morning and evening sessions, 300 women ages 20-85, free childcare/children’s program, teaching lecture with small groups.

If you have young children: try MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) on alternate Thursdays. Lots of young moms, great programs.

If you’d like an in-depth, focused Bible study: try Precepts on Tuesdays for personal, inductive study, with directed discussion and learning.

If you’re a single mom, widowed, are a medical spouse or need additional care or prayer: try Healing Hearts (dealing with hurtful afflictions from the past in a small group); Single Moms Bible Study; Side by Side (medical spouse’s group); or Watchmen(prayer group).

We have lots to offer, including our annual Devoted Hearts conference.

All we need is you! Questions? Jennifer Ouren at 507-288-8880.

Warmly in Christ,

Women's Bible Study

Who we are: A Bible Study group which connects you to women of all ages – 18 on up, who are meeting God and making friends.

What we do: Study the Bible through well-prepared teaching lectures, small group discussion, and friendships.

Click here to register for the January – May 2017 Study of 1 Corinthians.

about the new study:

A study of 1st Corinthians called Unity in Love. Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians contains some strong words to the church at Corinth, as well as the exquisite 13th chapter on love, instructions for worship, marriage, church leadership and an extraordinary explanation of the resurrection of the body.  It touches on all aspects of the Christian life lived in community, all of them working best when the foundation is Jesus Christ.

When we meet:
Wednesdays at 9:30-11:00am and 6:30-8:00pm. Our first session is Wednesday, September 14, 2016

What else should I know? It’s free – including childcare and an excellent children’s program. Coffee and treats each week. A great way to connect with other women.

About the children’s program:

In the morning, your preschool child enjoys learning a Bible lesson based on the passage for that week, crafts, and playtime. The children’s program, headed by Rhoda Levorson, includes a fully staffed nursery for babies and toddlers. There is no cost for the children’s program or nursery, but we do ask you to register your child when you register for the study.

In the evening, there is also a free nursery as well as Kids’ Clubs for your children up to fifth grade. There are also Bible studies for high school students. (Middle school programs meet on Sundays.)

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)MOPSlogo

Who we are: Mothers with children six and under

What we do: Encourage and support you in your parenting

Mothering is the most important job you will ever have! We help you connect with other women in our community, supporting you socially, emotionally, and spiritually through biblical teaching.

During the sessions, women receive a hot breakfast, enjoy great fellowship with other moms in their small group, and hear sound teaching on an area that pertains to motherhood. While women attend MOPS, their children (pre-school aged or younger) attend MOPPETS where they enjoy a craft, music time, and a Bible story.

Here is what women are saying about MOPS:

“MOPS has brought me closer to God through friendships and conversations with other Christian mothers. It has taught me how integral God is in my parenting strategies, my marriage, and in our family life.”

“One of the things MOPS has meant to me is…to be given the chance to step away from motherhood duties long enough to remember the big picture, the importance of what we are doing by investing our time into the lives of our kids, to realize how precious these times are, and to get the views and advice of moms who have already been there.”

“I have found myself opening up more with my faith, becoming more active in my home church, more comfortable talking to my sons about God and the Bible… I have found my relationship with my husband strengthened… and…myself spiritually enriched.”

Healing Hearts

Who we are: Women living with burdens from our pasts, whether that be our own sinful choices or pain inflicted by others

What we do: Use scripture to help you heal from the past in a safe, confidential, small group, without fear of judgment or condemnation. Read more: If you are a prisoner of shame or guilt because of physical abuse, sexual abuse, or abortion, Healing Hearts offers the wholeness, healing, and forgiveness of God found through His Son, Jesus Christ.

What is a Healing Hearts Support Group?

Healing Hearts studies teach us to apply Scripture to our lives in a small group, consisting of about 4 women and 2 trained lay counselors. The size of our support groups allow for quality time for each woman and her individual needs. Leaders who have personally walked through the healing process themselves offer unconditional love and continually pray for group participants. All groups and shared information remain strictly confidential. One-on-one counseling is also available via telephone and through our website www.healinghearts.org.

When we meet: Tuesdays 6:30 – 8:30 pm; other times by arrangement. Registration is first-come, first-served. If the class is full, women are put on a waiting list for next class offered.

Where: TBD

To register: Contact Julie Bashore (see below)

What else should I know? Binding Up the Broken Hearted is for women who have had abortions; The Hem of His Garment is for women suffering from past emotional hurts or abuse. All counselors are trained; extremely confidential; providing healing and help through God’s word and grace. The two studies offered are directed towards different needs. Each woman can expect to have weekly homework assignments to help her work through past hurts and the feelings that accompany them.

Binding Up the Broken Hearted is for women who suffer from the after affects of an abortion. Women are led to hope and healing through studying what God’s Word says about abortion, anger, shame, guilt, forgiveness, purity, and other topics. All leaders of these groups/study have had abortions and found healing from God’s Word with the help of this study.

The Hem of His Garment is for women who need help overcoming the pain of afflictions of their past. Women who have suffered loss, sexual abuse, divorce, rape, and other traumas are supported through this study. Like Binding Up, Hem’s focus is to lead women to hope and healing through studying what God’s Word says concerning sin, anger, guilt, shame, forgiveness, purity, and other topics. Once again, all of Hem’s leaders are recipients of God’s healing through his Word and his grace.

Cost: $20 for Bible study materials. No childcare provided.
