Bob and Barbara Bartz are serving with FEBA Radio in Pretoria, South Africa. As the Broadcast Technology Director for Africa, Bob is responsible for guiding the radio broadcast ministry from a technical perspective all across this vast continent. FEBA Radio regularly receives requests from churches and other ministries in Africa to partner with them to start a radio station in a particular location. These local partnerships are particularly effective in linking listeners with ministries that can introduce them to Christ and help them grow in their faith. Bob's role assists these partnerships in selecting and applying broadcasting tools to help the stations be effective.
Barb volunteers in the South Africa office of FEBA Radio. The focus of this office is to raise funds in the country to support minstry projects for FEBA and FEBC around the world. She is also involved in the Precepts Women's Bible study ministry in Pretoria. Bob and Barb are both involved in a local church in Pretoria where Bob is active in the church's worship ministry. Their children are now residing in the US where Nathan provides computer support for a trucking company while Emily is studying music and creative writing at Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN.
Pray for wisdom and discernment for the FEBA ministry team in Africa as they determine which partnerships to support and develop. Bob frequently meets with potential ministry partners and must evaluate these opportunities in light of their potential effectiveness.
FEBA Radio has limited technical resources available in Africa to assist partner stations. Bob is working with Development Engineer Graham Kimber to develop ways that to support local stations without having to make a personal visit. Bob is currently exploring a strategy to provide technical support through networking over the Internet (readily available in many parts of Africa).
One of Bob's responsibilities is to develop a center of technical excellence in South Africa that will serve the FEBA ministry across Africa. Pray for wisdom as this concept starts to take shape. Pray for clear direction about what services to provide and for the personnel to staff them.
There will always be more opportunities to minister than there are available resources. Pray for Bob and the rest of the team as they set their own priorities and focus on issues and solutions that will provide the greatest impact to the radio ministry.
Pray for Bob and Barb as they develop relationships with those around them in South Africa. Pray that these relationships will grow so that Bob and Barb can grow spiritually as well as have opportunities to influence others for the Kingdom.
