Summary:

We are members of Wycliffe Bible Translators serving in West Africa, under Wycliffe’s partner organization SIL International.  The nation we serve in is a very poor, predominantly Muslim country on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert.  Our time in West Africa is divided between the capital city, and our home in N-town, a three-day drive east of the capital.

Our main ministry goal is to help make disciples and build the Church by translating God’s word into the D-language, the mother tongue of some 300-400,000 D-people living in eastern West Africa and northern C--.  The D-people are nearly 100% Muslim, with only one known believer in our country and a handful of others in C--.

In addition to translation, we are developing an Arabic-script alphabet for D-language; producing D-language literacy materials in both Roman and Arabic scripts; seeking to be a faithful Christian presence in an entirely Muslim community; giving food and medical aid to the poor; sharing the Good News one-on-one with friends; providing encouragement and financial support to West African missionary-evangelists working in isolated parts of West Africa; and distributing God’s Story in several national languages on MegaVoice Ambassadors (hand-held, solar powered, digital audio players).
