Today was a great day spending time with you in our Insight Classes. We had a little over 100 students participate in the two hours this morning. Parents, I appreciate your willingness to be involved with your students. Your involvement creates a positive environment for our teens. Here at Autumn Ridge, we desire to assist you in what you are already doing within your home. God bless you this week as you serve Christ with you whole heart!
Today's reminder:
1- Just as Noah was a spiritual leader, so too, God has called us as parents to lead. Dad, God has called us to be the spiritual leaders - Mom, God has called you to create a Godly environment within your home.
2- God protected Noah's family. Be encouraged in knowing that God will give our families what is best - our job is to listen to His voice, His calling (even if that means we have to let little Johnnie say "yes" to God's calling on his life through the work of Missions that takes him to Antarctica) and say yes to His direction in our lives.
3- God was able to use Noah's entire family - they were used to restore humanity. Just as God used Noah and his family, He is looking for families to use today. Consider how you can be involved in ministry as a family over this coming year - missions (local, foreign), monthly family ministry within an area of Rochester Network for Reentry, etc.
It is an honor to serve as your student's pastor.

Praying impacts lives and your prayers for your student, the high school ministry leaders, and the church have a transforming effect on your student's spiritual growth. God tells us all throughout Scripture that if we pray and believe, He will answer our prayers and do what's best for us and our family. Also, time in prayer and communion with the Lord will help you have parental wisdom and know what God thinks when it comes to communicating with and raising your teenager.
By being directly involved in the ministry, you can better apply the same teachings your students get at church back at home! Also, being involved in things that are important to your student is a great way to show them how much you love them and care about their interests. There are many ways you can help out from being a small group leader, to organizing service projects, to doing updates to the website! Go to the Opportunities page to find out how you can help. Another opportunity to get involved is on the first Sunday of each month. You are invited to accompany your high schooler to the Sunday morning INSIGHT class (9am or 10:30am) on the first Sunday of each month. It's a great opportunity for parents to experience what their high schooler is experiencing. We want to encourage parents to commit to two hours on the first Sunday of each month to learn and grow with their high schooler in a smaller setting for one hour at the INSIGHT class and then to worship together in the adult service for one hour. Hope to see you in class on Sunday, December 7.
By reading the letters we send out periodically, checking the website regularly for updates, and reviewing any brochures or flyers they bring home with them, you can greatly help your student. There are a lot of events and details to keep track of, but doing so and also encouraging your student to get involved whenever possible makes a huge difference and is a very effective way to support their spiritual growth.
