How Parents can help

Praying

Praying impacts lives and your prayers for your student, the high school ministry leaders, and the church have a transforming effect on your student's spiritual growth. God tells us all throughout Scripture that if we pray and believe, He will answer our prayers and do what's best for us and our family. Also, time in prayer and communion with the Lord will help you have parental wisdom and know what God thinks when it comes to communicating with and raising your teenager.

Volunteering

By being directly involved in the ministry, you can better apply the same teachings your students get at church back at home! Also, being involved in things that are important to your student is a great way to show them how much you love them and care about their interests. There are many ways you can help out from being a small group leader, to organizing service projects, to doing updates to the website! Go to the Opportunities page to find out how you can help. Another opportunity to get involved is on the first weekend of each month. You are invited to accompany your high schooler to 2:42 and the Sunday morning INSIGHT class (9am or 10:30am) on the first Sunday of each month. It's a great opportunity for parents to experience what their high schooler is experiencing. We want to encourage parents to commit to two hours on the first Sunday of each month to learn and grow with their high schooler in a smaller setting for one hour at the INSIGHT class and then to worship together in the adult service for one hour. Hope to see you in class on the next first weekend of the month.

Being informed

By reading the letters we send out periodically, checking the website regularly for updates, and reviewing any brochures or flyers they bring home with them, you can greatly help your student. There are a lot of events and details to keep track of, but doing so and also encouraging your student to get involved whenever possible makes a huge difference and is a very effective way to support their spiritual growth.
