The Splendor of Salvation
Salvation is the story of scripture. The Bible presents Jesus as the Savior and us in need of being saved. To save means to be rescued from a dangerous or threatening situation. So Christ saves us from our sin and the judgment of God. In doing so he reconciles us to our Heavenly Father and delivers us from the wrath to come. Salvation is not a human enterprise for we cannot save ourselves. Salvation is a divine work. It is accomplished and applied by God. In this Lent sermon series we will examine some of the great New Testament words that are used to describe the splendor of our salvation.
