Grades 8-12

High school student will experience ministry and life in rural Preston County, West Virginia. The team will be working and supporting local families in need through construction and ministry in the community. Construction projects will include painting, building, home repair, and church repair. The team will also minister to local children and community members by hosting an evangelistic vacation bible school.

Do you use the current grade or the grade the student will enter following the summer?

Current grade the student is in when applying. 2016-2017 school year.

How will student travel to and from West Virginia?

Autumn Ridge will charter a coach bus to take students and participates to West Virginia.

What is the cost?


Are there ways for students to raise money for their trip?

Yes! Students can participate in the hire a student program, send mission support letters to friends and family, mission commissioning offering/fundraiser.

Where will students be staying?

Students will stay in cabins with Shepard’s Ministries. The cabins do have outlets and lights.  There will be a separate bathhouse. Beds are twin size bunk beds. Students will be divided by gender.

Will cellphones work?

Cell service in this area is not reliable. Students can bring their phones but they are not guaranteed to have service.

What will the weather be like?

In the past this is a very hot time of year. While we encourage students to be comfortable it is important to dress for the job that they are doing. Please see above for a full packing list.

Will my student need spending money?

Your student will not need any spending money. Everything will be provided to them.
