The Autumn Ridge Church Arts Series is pleased to announce its second major concert of 2008. Nationally-known and award-winning composer and performer Fernando Ortega.
October 10th, 7:30pm. General admission seating is $20. Gold Circle Seating is $30.
Fernando Ortega joins Caedmon’s Call, Michael Card, and Phil Keaggy as performing artists whose significant, steadfast ministries have graced the stage of Autumn Ridge Church during the first two seasons of the arts series.

Over these past 15 years we’ve heard the authentic and peaceful music of Fernando Ortega as if it were the soundtrack of our lives. Featuring dancing guitars, classical influences, and a Celtic flavor, his music is fueled by the energy of youth yet crafted to the highest standards of pop composition, comparable in its vision to the best of Peter Gabriel and Paul Simon.
Ortega’s songs proclaim love and gratitude to God poetically yet conversationally, whether in English or Spanish. He has written, played, and sung about the wonders of our world—each a reminder of a better world beyond time’s horizon. His releases feature fresh new compositions, wonderful arrangements of traditional hymns, and thoughtful songs of devotion and worship.
Songs like Fernando Ortega’s heart-breaking arrangement of “Give me Jesus” have enabled individuals, families and congregations to express unspeakable emotion at times of grief and hopelessness.
Ortega’s creative portfolio reflects an amazing wealth of influences. He grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico near the banks of the Rio Grande. Through his father's work, he also spent time in Ecuador and Barbados. His family lived in Chimayo, NM for eight generations. It is from his heritage and classical training at the University of New Mexico that Ortega derives his unique sound, embracing country, classical, Celtic, Latin American, world, modern folk and rustic hymnody.
