Koinonia strives to be committed to Christian life, demonstrating these values.
We believe that God wants us to grow in Christ-likeness. We strive to live a Godly lifestyle that reflects our faith in Christ, maintaining a strong testimony and refusing to compromise Biblical convictions.
We believe Christ-followers should develop authentic relationships that are characterized by integrity, honesty, kindness, humility, and forgiveness. We believe that the biblical portrait of the church emphasizes relationships within community. We feel that community is best cultivated in small groups. (Acts 2:42; Jn. 13:34-35; Eph. 4:2-3; Col. 3:12-14, Heb. 10:24:25)
We believe that God has been culturally relevant to humans by becoming a man in Jesus Christ and living among us. Thus we believe the church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally true to scripture. We strive to sensitively relate to our culture through our facilities, printed materials, teaching and technology. (Jn 1:14; 1 Cor. 9:19-23; 1 Tim. 4:16)
We believe that excellence honors God and inspires people. We consistently strive to maintain a level of excellence that pleases God and communicates to everyone around us that we take great joy in serving the Lord to the very best of our ability. (Ps. 8:1; Mal. 1:6-11; Col. 3:17)
We believe we are called to give the Lord the best of our time, talents, and treasures. Every believer has been given spiritual gifts to serve others and bring glory to God. When we are stewards of God’s gifts to us we experience great joy and satisfaction. (Matt. 6:20-21; 1 Cor. 12:14-20; Eph. 4:11-16; 1 Pet. 4:10-11)
We believe salvation is found in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. We believe every person is valuable to God and that all believers have been given the privilege and responsibility of reaching out to others with the same love and care that God has given us.
Our desire is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where the life-changing message of Jesus Chris is shared with anyone we come in contact with. (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 1 Jn 4:7-11; 1 Thes. 1:6-8; 2:6b-8)
We believe there that there is a spiritual battle raging for marriages. We strive to strengthen marriages and help couples grow in Christ-likeness. God’s word reveals his plan for marriage and teaches us about living and enjoying the married life. (Josh. 24:15; Eph. 5:22-33; 1 Cor. 13:4-7)
We believe that God has revealed himself and his plan for life in the Bible. We believe that life-related, biblical preaching is an important and vital tool used by God to bring about life-change. God’s word contains truth and wisdom and is intended to be applied to life. (Josh. 1:8; 2 Tim. 3:16; 1 Thes. 2:13; Js. 1:22-25)
We believe that ultimately true success in life is measured not by how much we please others, but how much we please God. Our life should be motivated by a genuine desire to bring honor and glory to His name. There is no great goal in life than pleasing God. (Prov. 1:7; Matt. 25:14-30, 2 Cor. 5:9-12)
