Marriage Mentoring is a vital tool to build into marriages.  We believe that any married couple can learn from a more experienced couple who can serve as a mentor.  It is important to differentiate marriage mentoring and family mentoring.  Two separate definitions will be helpful.

Marriage mentoring – A couple to couple mentoring relationship from the newly-wed stage on.  Areas to discuss would include: communication, family, finances, in-laws, marital expectations, relationships roles, etc.

If you are interested in being matched with a marriage mentor couple who will commit to walking alongside of you in your marriage, we encourage you to submit this application form to the church office.

 Family mentoring – A couple to couple mentoring relationship at any stage with the purpose of focusing on areas outside of the marriage relationship.  Examples include: aging parents, raising school-aged children, potty-training toddlers, child behavioral issues, etc.

The idea of mentoring sometimes infers that there are problems to be dealt with.  However, we believe that mentoring is simply another form of discipleship: an opportunity for an experienced couple to come alongside another couple to help guide them through the marriage or family stage that they are currently in.
