What is Discipleship Ministries?
Discipleship Ministries at Autumn Ridge Church are all about getting you involved in ministries that not only fit your gifts and personality, but maximize you potential to grow in your faith. We call it "discipleship" because that is what God calls it! God doesn't want us to just simply listen to sermons and forget what we've learned, he wants us to be students, to be disciples of His teaching. This church has literally hundreds of ministries that you could get involved in. Well that makes for a difficult decision! You can't be involved in everything, so picking and choosing can be daunting. That is where we can help you. By meeting with you and finding out what your spiritual gifts and desires lie, we can help you find a great ministry for you. Whether it is men's ministry and women's ministry, doing manual labor and construction for families in the community, or helping the children's ministry on Sunday mornings, there is something for you.
How can you help me choose a ministry?
Karen Foster, our Pastor of Ministry Development, loves to find what makes people tick. By talking to you and finding out what you like to do, what stage of life you are in, what kind of ministries you have been in in the past, we can give you some recommendations on where you might feel at home. If you interested in finding out your spiritual gifts and what abilities God has blessed you with, we have several "Spiritual Gift Assessments" that ask you basic day to day questions about what you enjoy, what you are good at, and how you respond to situations, these tests are pretty fun and very helpful.
What if I just want to pick a ministry?
If you feel like you know what ministry you want to check out (browsing is great, you aren't marrying the ministry!) then by all means, go for it! We are here for people that either don't know where they want to go, or who thought they knew, but aren't experiencing growth. Many people think they know where God wants them, but never noticed another ministry that would be perfect for them! We won't pretend to know God's will for your life, but maybe another perspective will reveal a whole new world of spiritual growth for you!
How can I get involved?
On this section of the website you will see many web pages devoted to various ministries around the church. These pages should have at least basic information and a way to contact the person in charge of this ministry. Many ministries in the church don't have a web page (yet) and so filling out the form below will give you an opportunity to get a list of ALL of the ministries you could participate in.
